Festivals of Music Awards
Mr. Gilbert noted several plaques on display in the Band Room that acknowledge awards received at the Festivals of Music competition during the recent New York trip.
The Wind Symphony received the overall Championship Award, plus a First Place in their class and earned a Superior award.
The combined Symphonic and Concert Band also played very well and finished 2nd place in their class, earning an Excellent award.
And, we can be especially proud that the Norcross Band program was awarded the coveted Esprit de Corps Award for an exemplary attitude of positive support and outstanding personal behavior of the students throughout the festival.

Congratulations to the NHS Concert Band for their LGPE Superior Ratings in both performance and sight reading. Final Ratings were I, I, II, I in Sight Reading.
Also, congratulations to the performing members of the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band!
The Symphonic Band earned straight superior ratings from the 3 concert performance judges and the sight reading judge. Their performance was the best of the year and could not have gone better - Mr. Gilbert was very pleased with their progress and accomplishment.
The Wind Symphony had a memorable performance in the final concert of the day. Superior Ratings and "straight A's" were awarded to the band from the concert judges and another "straight A" performance was reached in the sight reading room.
The students in this group really turned it on and delivered a fantastic performance.
