FUNDRAISING
Spectacular Events (Three Guys Entertainment) - The Spectacular
Events season will be starting soon. We are working on contracts
for the month of April. As soon as we have the dates and details,
the information will be communicated to Band Boosters.
Plant Sale
- Order forms were handed out to students Thursday, March 19.
Order forms are due back by April 1. Plant pickup will be April
25. A portion of the proceeds from every order goes to the
individual student's account.
Other fund-raising items offered on an ongoing basis for student
accounts are:
Car Wash ticket sales - Martha Freiberg - (freiberg@mindspring.com
)
Martha had Happy Days car wash tickets available. Tickets are $22
for cars and $25 for vans/SUVs, with approximately one half going to
the student's account.
Ingles Advantage Shopping Cards - Margaret Miller (ms4461230@comcast.net )
Brewster's Booklets are available from Lori Tucker
(metucker12@bellsouth.net )
The cost of a 10-coupon booklet is $10 and $5 goes into the student's
account.
SPRING TRIP TO
NEW YORK
Lori
Tucker (metucker12@bellsouth.net)
Trip dates are April 15 - 19. A mandatory parent meeting is
scheduled for April 13 at 7:30 in conjunction with the regular Booster
Club meeting. A representative parent must be present.
A trip chaperone meeting is set for Mar. 23 at 7:00 p.m.
We are still pending the final trip cost due to the fact that we have
been advised there will be a reduction in fuel surcharge fees. We
expect that reduction will partially offset the additional cost we
incurred in order to secure tickets to the play Wicked. It looks
like all trip participants will owe an additional $10 toward the trip.
Group photos package - Trip chaperone and professional photographer
Danny Spears has offered to take photos of the group while in New York,
including a group 11 x 14 composite print and
a DVD slide show for a cost of $30 if ordered before the trip.
Order forms and additional information will be available at the parent
meeting. Orders can still be submitted after the trip, but they will be
at a higher cost because they would need to be printed individually .
OTHER BUSINESS
09-10 Exeutive Board - Mary Beth
Stickney, Nominating Committee Chairperson, (m.stickney@comcast.net
) led the election of Executive Board officers for the '09 - '10
school year. Band Boosters voted and, without additional
nominations or objection, elected the slate of officers as presented.
These newly elected officers will start April 1st:
Margaret Miller and Becky Valentine - Co-Presidents
Cindy Smith (accounts payable) and Chris Collins (accounts receivable)
- Co-Treasurers
B. J. Doherty - Vice President, Fundraising
Gwenda Booth - Secretary
There are still various Committee Chair and positions that need to be
filled. Please contact Mary Beth or Margaret (ms4461230@comcast.net
) if you have an interest in helping. Margaret is still
touching base with current Committee chairs to confirm whether or not
they plan to continue in their current role.
Senior Portraits - Mary Beth will handle communications to
senior parents and arrange scheduling of photo shoots to be held
outdoors at Jones
Bridge Park.
This is a gift from Band Boosters to the graduating students and there
is no cost, except for any senior who is not current on his/her band
obligation account. In such a case, the portraits cost, if they
choose to have them done, is $60.
Band Boosters parent Cliff Watson has volunteered as photographer to
take our Senior portraits and will be working with Mary Beth.
Planning for next year - Intent forms for the next school year
will be sent out after we return from New York. Once that data is
collected and entered in a database, any new students will begin
receiving Band Boosters correspondence.
